Steampunk Mixed Media Notebook Cover

 Namaste Friends!!

Kriti this side….I hope you all are doing great…..

The” Mixed Media Challenge ” is currently running on Itsy Bitsy blog……and my today’s inspiration is for the same. I have altered a notebook cover in steampunk style. Although its not my genre….but I tried something different this time.

This is what I made!

I have a step -by – step tutorial for this….

Step 1 :  First, take a notebook and apply Little Birdie’s black gesso all over it to make the surface non-porous.

Step 2: To add some texture, I pasted some torn pieces of paper over the base with glue.

Step 3: After that, cover the surface with black gesso again.

Step 4: Now the most important part…That’s to decide the composition. I took some gear and flourish chipboards from the store and pasted over the base with the help of heavy gel medium. To give some extra interest, I adhered some half pearls in different sizes.

Step 5: After everything is dried…..cover the entire base with black gesso again.

Step 6: Finally, the most interesting part is to play with the colours. I have selected Little Birdie Patina Glaze and Copper Blaze metallic waxes to highlight the textures and chip boards with the help of finger.

And Ta- DA ……its ready…..

Mixed Media Canvas

 Namaste friends!

Kriti this side…..hope you all are enjoying….and having a great time!

Today…I am here with a mixed media canvas. I have used lots of mixed media supplies from Little Birdie.

Here is my canvas….

So, let’s start the tutorial…

  1. I took a canvas and applied Little Birdie’s Crackle Paste through a stencil.

  2. Next, I took Little Birdie’s Mixed Media Fiber paste and applied as shown in the picture to add some extra textures to my canvas….

  3. After that I took Little Birdie’s Sailing Sky Chalk paint, diluted it with some water and applied over the stenciled area. Then I applied Little Birdie’s Color Splash – Gold Rush over the textured area.

  4. Now my base is ready and it’s the time to add the embellishments to finalize my composition. For that I took some floral die cuts, chipboard, handmade flowers, craft pellets some pearls and beads.

And tada….its ready….This is the final look!

Some detailed pictures….

Altered Mixed Media MDF Panel

Namaste Friends!!

Kriti this side….Hope you all had a great 2021…..keep healthy and keep crafting!

Today, I have altered a MDF panel using lots of amazing products from Itsy Bitsy….So, sit back and enjoy the photo tutorial……

Before we begin, look at what I created and get inspired to create something today!

Let’s start………

  1. I took a MDF panel and covered it entirely with Little Birdie’s White Gesso and left it to dry completely.

2. Then, I adhered some scrap pieces of puzzle using Little Birdie’s Heavy Gel Medium, after finalizing my focal point. In this project I am using two focal points using Little Birdie’s Quote Stencils.

3.  After that, completely cover it with white gesso again and let it dry….

4. The most interesting part is to colour the base….I have used Little Birdie’s Sailing Sky chalk paint and Little Birdie’s Color Splash – Hot Pink.

5. To make the focal point, I first applied Little Birdie’s Mixed Media paste using  the quote stencils on a white card stock. When it dried up completely, I had sprayed Hot pink Colour Splash.

After that, to highlight the quote, I brushed it with Little Birdie’s Charcoal – chalk paint.

After finalizing the composition…..it looked like this.
